Re: anybody in Canada with metal valve stems??
I picked up my set in Niagara Falls, NY, at a NAPA store. About 9 bucks.
Nice and shiny and chromed! Finally, some add on chrome. Like, that made me a real biker.
Installed them at the next tire change and they worked just fine. More secure than the stock valves but.....obviously not flexible when it came time to adding air to the rear tire so manipulating the air chuck at the service station was a bit more difficult.
My answer to that issue was to buy a cheapo DC air compressor at China-Mart. Keep on the bike at all times. (There is a thread about a mod where one of the members permanently installed the air compressor under the saddle. Another option.) Much easier to manipulate on the pressure valve. Consider getting a tire pressure monitor system since air pressure is critical to tire longevity and being able to check air pressure easily gives me a great deal of peace of mind. And I avoid premature tire wear, especially on the front wheel.
I can see by your threads that you are in the Early Farkelization Stage. Ah, a new lover....
