Talking BMW dealers in Montreal which one is better??

Hi all;

Since I recently purchased a 2005 K 1200 LT, I was thinking ahead about service. There are two dealers near Montreal and ( two in Ottawa, Ontario around 150 kilometers away) I was wondering if anyone has had work done at either one and which one would be better for service??

I don't mind going to Ottawa ( heard there is a BMW mechanic) who does fantastic work but is always busy!!! Which leaves the dealer ( Goodtime in Ottawa).

Any hints from guys in the area, would be appreciated!!!

Regards,
Bowdon

I have purchased and serviced my bikes from Moto Inter. Now that I live the other side of London I still have taken the opportunity to ride to Montreal to have them service my LT.

Mugz;

Now thats a long way to travel for service!!! I guess they do a decent job, but the hourly rate seems expensive.
Ottawa Goodtime centre would be at least 1 1/2 closer!! Don't know about the service department. There is also a BMW guy in Ottawa (his own shop) that I heard was good and less costly then a dealer.
I have had my 93 1100 lt worked on at Moto International and they did do a good job then, but the hourly went way up since then.
I will give them a shot in the spring for the oil change.

No one around your area (Wolf in TO??).

Wolf is hessitant, to say the least, about working on bikes that he has not sold.

I had my centre stand actuator replaced by Open Road in Newmarket and I have heard good things about them. Moto has great tire prices and warranty work is looked after decently. Do not have enough experience with the Ottawa dealer but have heard good things about the local shop. I come out to visit my kids in Cornwall and take the opportunity to get to Moto if I can.

If you are doing oil changes and regular maintenance, why not do it yourself? This forum is a great source and it really is satisfying to get to know your bike and that the work is done right.

I am building the brake bleeding tool to bleed my brakes which has always been a tabu dealer service but through the help of this forum, it is possible.

Let me know if you need any assistance.

In Ottawa for service there is only Premier Cycle. Jesse is a BMW Master tech. who will treat your bike and you with the respect that you both deserve.

Goodtime is about two/three years away from having qualified techs.

Good luck.

PS: Premier Cycle will not damage your expensive rims when changing tires.

R12RTJohnny;

I sent an email to Jesse a few weeks ago and he replied. I guess I will be going to Premier for any major work I need. For oil changes, I think I will try Monette Sport in Laval. I just purchased an extended warrenty and the dealer to go through is Monette. Price for three years ( everything covered, including ABS and seals & gaskets) was $1600 Can & taxes for North American coverage. Will see if this was worth it.
