Question extended warranties worth the cost?

Hi all;

I am looking at getting a 2005 or 2006 from the US and importing it into Canada. Wondering if I should also purchase an extended warranty in Canada or one from the US.

Any one have one? Cost in Canada for how many years?miles covered?

Regards,
Bowdon

Re: extended warranties worth the cost?

I purchased an extended warranty when I first purchased my '06. It was from Integrated Warranty Systems https://www.iwsinc.ca/ and cost $1400. I'm not sure if it will apply to used bikes bought in the US - but you can always ask. They may want to be assured that all the required mtce has been done as per the BMW recommendations. The policy states: "Coverage is not provided under the terms of this plan unless the unit(s) have been serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations."

I bought one one month before my warrenty ran out and it cost $1300. Covers everthing that is not wear related. One month later the center stand quit working the part paid for the warrenty.
