Gerbings Recalls Heated Jacket Liners Due to Burn Hazard

Gerbings Recalls Heated Jacket Liners Due to Burn Hazard

I've had this problem with Gerbings gear in the past, resulting in some very painful blisters on my hip, right where several wire connections were made inside my Gerbings pants.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Re: Gerbings Recalls Heated Jacket Liners Due to Burn Hazard

My wife had the same issue on the hip of her Gerbings heated pants several years ago,
and like Ken said it was right where several wires were connected together,
I fixed the issue myself by re-soldering the wires so that not as many were "clumped together" in the same spot
and she then re-sowed the seem I had split.
no issue since.

Re: Gerbings Recalls Heated Jacket Liners Due to Burn Hazard

Gerbings has received two reports of the jacket liners overheating, causing minor dime-sized burns to consumers’ backs, resulting in blisters.

Only 2 reports.

Maybe BMW should follow their lead on some of their issues.

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying " I'll try again tomorrow".

Re: Gerbings Recalls Heated Jacket Liners Due to Burn Hazard

Only 2 reports that they are admitting to and that have forced them to act this time.

I know of more than two people myself that have received 2nd-degree burns over the past few years.

My burns are from the pants a few years back, but you don't see a recall on those.

I think that maybe Gerbing's has learned to follow BMW's lead here . . .
