Anyone seen one of these up close and personal ?
Very Harley Davidson looking to me but also pretty cool.

Re: Gold Wing F6B ?

No ABS, not even as an option. No turn signal auto-cancel in the base model. This is disappointing, but I love the direction they've taken this model.

My neighbor thinks it looks like a cross between my RT and a Harley. He might be right.

Re: Gold Wing F6B ?

I sat on one at the motorcycle show this year. To me it looks and feels similar to Harley's Street Glide. Nice bike but to big and heavy for my tastes. Same issue I have with the Harley.

I like the flat black paint...have been toying with the idea of doing my LT in that.

Re: Gold Wing F6B ?

Saw one in a parking lot at Daytona Trailer Week. Attracted lots of attention. Looks pretty neat as long as it's not in my garage! I think Honda is trying to resurrectd the VALKYRIE!

Nice bike but way too big. Long, wide, and heavy.

It also has no reverse and the one I sat on didn't even have cruise control. Who ever buys one of these cares more about image and less about substance...oh wait, that does sound like a Harley.

Not only that, I saw one at the Zürich Motoshow a few weeks back and tried it for size.
First the seat reaches just above my knees and I looked like a monkey humping a watermelon when I sat on it.

I was thinking about doing something similar with my 1200KLT. I've taken my trunk off & {IMO} that's an improvement. My windshield is this big'ole sail looking thing, so I plan on cutting it down, the paint thing is easy ?, just pick the colors & decide , what color goes where.

Any ideas / opinions ??

Re: Gold Wing F6B ?

Sat on one at dealer in Orlando. They were also at Daytona Bike Week (as someone else said Daytona Trailer Week....) I thought it feels good to sit on... Feels big... Road hog cruiser... But as was pointed out... No cruise control available. No reverse.... Fixed windshield....Feels like a Gold Wing (I wonder why).... Saddle bag doors looked cheap... and flimsy...

I for one was not impressed... Did not ride...just sat on it...

Re: Gold Wing F6B ?

The premum model comes with just about all the normal bells and whistles EXCEPT reverse.
Rode it and it is pretty cool. The seat is wide and actually makes the bike feel bigger than it is when you have both feet down, but feels fine once rolling. Way less top heavy than the RT, will handle all the same twisties at the same speeds and with a little less effort, BUT it is still more like riding your sofa than a bike.
Loved the bike but don't believe I'd buy a bike without a top box. Still it is very nice... honda did a great job.

Wonder why they excluded reverse? On looks alone it would make a great looking sidecar outfit. Seems too me a trunk could always be added. I took the OEM trunk off my 1200LT and like it better. Plan to use a GIVI, on/off instead when space is needed.

Re: Gold Wing F6B ?

I rented a GW while researching which bike to purchase. Comfortable when riding, but the heft of the thing was more than I cared to live with. Pulling onto a dirt forestry road for an overnight camp was a very uncomfortable experience for me personally. I don't see this bike being a lot different except for losing some of the comfort items that led me to consider a GW in the first place.

Re: Gold Wing F6B ?

I read a review of this bike and thought, why would they take off the cruise control and reverse ?

I was told by someone who just purchased a new GW that it was to meet a price point !

I think I'll get a GT or an older RS rather than some half baked marketers idea of what a sport touring bike should be.

Smile Re: Gold Wing F6B ?

I was dismayed upon close inspection of how much was left off the MC for a 20K price..

INstead for that price I opted for a NEW 2012 Victory Cross Country tour - It so much reminds me of my 05 LT less the centerstand of course... believe it or not that includes the handling part too!!
