Well this is just bizzare

REDMOND, Ore. -

A Redmond motorcyclist and his dog were killed late Friday night when his motorcycle struck the dog on a northwest Redmond residential street, police said Saturday.

Redmond police were dispatched around 10:15 p.m. to the area of NW Poplar Avenue and 20th Court on the single-vehicle crash, said Sgt. Keith Knight.

The reporting parties said the motorcycle rider was unconscious after the collision, Knight said.

Police and fire medics arrived to render aid, but the driver, identified as Theodore R. Rainville, 44, of Redmond, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation indicates Rainville was operating a Yamaha off-road-style motorcycle on Poplar Avenue when he struck his dog in the roadway.

Rainville, who lives in the area. was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the sergeant said, adding that the dog also died at the scene.

Bizzare for sure. Really sad that people get injured and killed in this way.

Another bizzare: my cousin and her husband were injured when they hit a mountain lion in Montana. The newspaper said they were not wearing helmets Luckily they survived.

But what about the mountain lion? Was he wearing a helmet? And did he survive?

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

A friend of mine hit a big dog with his RT a few years ago. He ended up laying in a ditch, when he heard a policeman say "I better shoot him & put him out of his misery". My Friend told him, I hope you are talking about the dog..

My friend came out of it OK, he is a all the gear all the time kind of guy..

Blame the ass on the bike. You know the dog was just happy to see his master...

The newspaper said, the newspaper said...blah, blah, blah.

many years ago the newspaper said ...........he was not wearing a helmet
and moving at a high rate of speed when he hit the building,
that's right they made it a point to say....he was not wearing a helmet,

what they didn't say ............is that he was snorting meth, started drinking at noon,
drank a whole bottle of Jack Daniels, by himself and a many beers,
then at 4am (without permission)
got on his room mates three cylinder Kawasaki 500 (remember those)
butt naked and ran it wide open down the street through the T intersection
between two buildings and took his head of with the electric meter.

Yet...all the newspaper mentioned is that he was not wearing a helmet.
and now you've probably guessed how I feel about "what the newspaper said"

That opinion is also because I worked for a newspaper for 16 years.

SIR!
Are you implying the news companies are selective in the information they do and do not post in effort to force a specific conclusion?
Why I never..........

The mountain lion was killed. The police said the motorcyclists were lucky the mountain lion was killed or they would have been eaten before help could arrive. Imagine that - survive a motorcycle accident only to be eaten by a lion. Just not your day.
