Recommend PA rides?

Hi
I'm heading to PA this weekend to ride.
I found some nice routes in www.sundaymorningrides.com
Does anyone have any routes they enjoy and are willing to share?
Thanks,
Ellie

Hi Ellie,
My wife and I were in PA this summer. We stayed in Warren and rode around that area for 3 days. It's just north of the Allegheny state forest. Rte.666 through the park was great (watch for deer), 62 which runs south down the west side of the park was nice too.You can't really find a bad road to ride in that area!
The Holiday Inn in Warren let us park our bikes under the front canopy every night as well.
B.T.W. there is now a Timmies in Warren too! lol
Have fun and be safe.

Re: Recommend PA rides?

I'm assuming you'll come into PA and pick up rt 219 south? If so thats a great road going down state or you can jump off 219 south of Bradford PA and ride rt 6 either directions east or west. East takes you towards Wellsboro PA, and West takes you towards Warren PA. My advice is to take 219 south and just jump off wherever you decide, all great secondary roads in that area.
My wife and I just hop on any given road and at each crossroad I ask her, "right, left, straight" and thats where we go. We find some really great roads that way, but sometimes you'll find the pavement ends and yourself riding dirt for a ways.
Leaves are turning so there should be some great sights.

Re: Recommend PA rides?

+1 On Rt. 6. I'd go east and visit Wellsboro, eat at the diner. Stay at Hotel or a motel. Then ride up to the Grand Canyon of PA. Check out route 287 north toward Corning, NY or take 287 south and pick up route 414 west toward Cedar Run. Deer and trucks hauling for the Marcellus Shale can be interesting.

Roadrunner Magazine did a shamrock tour from St. Mary's, PA not too long ago. It's not too far from 219. Straubs Brewery is a must if you go into town.

Enjoy!

Take care,
Chris
