Be careful out there...

Seen this last fall coming up an on ramp...but the smell tipped me off before I got tangled up in it.

Re: ...oil

Scary. In India I have fallen many many times riding behind my brother and once while I was riding. The passenger always gets injured more than the rider primarily because the rider anticipates the fall few seconds before falling.

Also switch off the power to the bike as soon as you can to avoid major fire. Preferably do not ride the same bike again unless inspected.

The greatest automotive journalist ever was the late L J K Setright and he also rode motorcycles and wrote about them as well. He always railed against diesel vehicles whose spillage was a motorcycling safety hazard.

Re: ...oil

I had a similar experience but it was gasoline on the road at a on ramp. I was lucky enough to smell it before I hit it and was somewhat looking in anticipation of it and slowing down some. I slid into the on coming lane but got it straightened out and stopped so I did not fall. I also was not on an LT which I doubt would have had the same results given the weight difference. I was lucky that the on coming car saw what was happening and had stopped or it would have been a bad outcome. My friend behind me saw what happened and was able to avoid the same mishap. Glad to see that this guy had on all his riding attire and looked to be uninjured but I am sure was quite shaken. That would make a great training video in a safety class as to what to watch for while and how fast something can happen while on the road. Your sacrifice and video I am sure has opened our eyes.
