ride suggestions. chatanooga, yazoo city, beaver bend, ozarks, bowling green

LaNett and i will celebrate 30 years together with a six day ride, going through about 9 new states we've never ridden through yet. If you have suggestions for riding (and eats) I would appreciate hearing them. This will be around July 4.

Leaving Raleigh area to Chattanooga to Yazoo City to Beaver Bend State Park to Ozarks to Bowling Green then back home. Have a tentative route but subject to change as we get info.

Gonna be a little more challenging packing the K16 compared to the LT. Don't trust putting the extra weight of a luggage rack and bag yet until BMW comes out with one, so that limits storage.

Thanks!

Sounds like a great trip, Norwood. Since you're going through Chattanooga, why not stop by Pandora's BMW and check it out? I've not been there, so a dealership report would be nice.

Hope you have a good time. Congrats to you and LaNett. She's something for putting up with you all these years!

Are you going to buy her a Spyder? RS or RT? I took my wife to Concord Mills Mall a couple weeks ago when they had the Spyder Tour there. She liked the RT, but wasn't thrilled about the price. $$$! We're looking for a used one, but the RT's only been around since 2010. Used are almost the price of new, IF you find one close enough to be interesting.

Hey Lee

We may be swingin into Chattanooga late and leaving early so Pandoras might be closed.

Ya LaNetts something for putting up with me. Shes getting an RS. I'd love to talk her into a used one if we can find one. Gotta sell the Ural first. Got 2 folks interested so may be soon.

The trips coming together. In Chattanooga we'll stay on the Dixie Queen over night. Next night in Greenville MS. Gonna eat at Does Eat Place- gotta walk through the kitchen to get in. We'll split a steak as I read they are huge. Next night at Beavers Bend State Park in Ok. Next day through the Ozarks to cant remember. Next day up into Il and In then drop back down into Tn. Next day home. Still working out the return trip specifics. Looking forward to it!

Was reading the report and viewin the pics on the Fl trip. Looks like it was a great time! Sorry we had to miss it.

From the little searching we had done, the RS' were more readily available used. Still kind of high pricing. I'd think the value would drop off like most everything else, but not so much. Pam rode both, but liked the RT better. IF she was to buy one, she would want the bags to carry stuff in. IF she were to ever take a trip with me, she'd be able to carry her own stuff.

One thing I discovered searching the motorcycle trader was that there are quite a few of new 2010 and 2011 models the dealers have not parted with. Kind of made me wonder how bad they want to make them go bye-bye and if they'd be willing to make a deep discounted deal on one of them. I didn't contact any of them and throw out a low-ball offer. Couldn't hurt. Still get the new vehicle warranty and should be a lower price.

If you can move the Ural and find a Spyder, are you taking the GTL and the RS?
