Ducati.

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying " I'll try again tomorrow".

Say it ain't so, Joe! Never thought I'd see the day when you'd buy yourself a shiny, new, BITC#!N6 VESPA!

I doubt very seriously that you'd not be buying SOMETHING. My guess would be a K1600GT or maybe an FJR13000.

You must try a Wing before buying your next ride...
New wardrobe will include satin jackets and the trunk will have a shelf for the apple pies...
Ride what you want... as long as you ride! (but I give you 6 months MAX before you sell and buy something more Joe-like!).

Re: Welp ... I think it's time to sell my 2010 Concours14

Yes, it's true. I'm looking at Harleys. The Ultra Glide Classic (FLHTC). I've owned 7 Hondas, 2 Kawasakis, and 2 Beemers. It's time to try something new. With my new job and band, I only have time to commute to and from work, and ride with my wife. I don't need a go long/go fast bike. It's an opportunity to try something new. And variety IS the spice of life.

O.K, that sounds like a plan. I think you will go full circle and end up back in the BMW camp though. After all you keep coming back here and you keep entertaining us.

Next, is everything on the menu at Starbucks.

What have you done with the real Joe! Has anybody found the POD!

Good on you for going your own way. I've never known you not to! One thing you'll have to learn to do is scowl. Hardly anyone on a V-twin will smile. They might once they're off it. Hmm. Could be on to something there.

I was at a graduation party over the weekend and admiring a guys Wide glide, he mentioned he had bought it last year and he was selling his other bike a Harley Roadster, why? now this is paraphrased but pretty damn close to his exact statement.... "...the roadster beats me up so bad after an hour of riding it's hard to walk, but the Wide glide I can ride two or three hours until it starts to hurt..." I just smiled silently thinking of hours on my LT in comfort

I looked at them. For the money, I'll just get a Harley. Besides, I don't like their full-dresser options. Their cruisers are nice ... but their full-dressers get ugly in a hurry, IMO.

I've ridden an older FLH for serveral hours with no issue. Just as comfortable as my LT was. Maybe this guy you talked to had physical issues that even an LT would "beat him up". Or, he just doesn't like to ride as much as WE do.

Unfortunate reality is that is part of the reason I purchased a different home two years ago. Old home had steps every where, narrow door ways, etc. New home is all one level and 36" doors every where. Planning for the future and trying to enjoy the present.

Hope your H-D works for you.

Re: Welp ... I think it's time to sell my 2010 Concours14

Congrats on your HD purchase. I rode an Ultra for several years and really did love it...nothing like the sound and feel of that big twin. My only issue and the reason I sold it in favor of the LT was I got tired of dragging chrome parts in the twisties. My usual riding partners are on a Gold Wing and an FJR, so the Ultra was just the wrong tool for the job. However, it's a wonderful riding machine and I was able to do 1000 mile days on mine with the stock seat and highway pegs.

I'm jealous!

I simply love the look and sound of a H D, but I hate to wash and polish them. Just too many nooks and crevices. I do get the urge to get another for short rides around town and maybe keep the K1600GTL company.

Enjoy it ....

Exclamation Re: Welp ... I think it's time to sell my 2010 Concours14

! ! ! UPDATE ! ! !

OK ... so it turns out I was just having a hard time passing some gas. The "feeling" has subsided, and I have once again lost the urge to become truly cool and own a Harley.

The truth is, I've been enjoying my Concours14 so much to and fro work with it's amazing passing capabilities, that I just can't imagine riding a Harley and still having this much fun.

Sorry for the false alarm...

Truth is...Mrs. Joe slapped him real hard and screamed "WAKE UP, JOE! YOU'RE DREAMING AGAIN!" Then she splashed cold water on him!

Glad to hear you snapped out of it, Joe! It really would have been weird to see you ride up to STC next year in a turtle shell, shorts, and flip-flops.
