Re: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Daydreaming

Somehow I have ended up with two copies of ZAMM (D) and pick one up every now and then to just skim over some of what I consider, some of the more interesting parts. I like your blog account of it.

I happened to also read John Steinbeck's, "Travels with Charley" about the first time I read ZAMM and found them to be quite similar in many ways.

Funny how you can re-read a book and still fell like it's the first time, only better.

I recently picked up "Illusions...The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah" at the local library but just couldn't get interested in it enough to finish. Might have been the mood I was in at the time because I have enjoyed reading some of his earlier books.

I am always looking for suggested books and appreciated the suggestion.

Add these:

"Out West" by Dayton Duncan
"Blue Highways" by William Least Heat Moon
"Dharma Bums and On the Road" by Jack Kerouac

After reading, open your USA Road Atlas and start planning.

Take care,
Chris
