Took this home a few weeks ago. I have been wanting one for years, and finally have one!

It is a new 2011 Ural Gear Up. It is my new winter bike. Tired of haveing to park the LT once it snows. I must admit, the LT has been a bit neglected these past few weeks as the Ural has been getting all my attention.

Nice! But you really need spiked winter tires to complete the outfit!

Nice and fun. A collegue had one when I was stationed in Senegal. We had some fun tours all around Dakar. He was driving, but I switched gears with the switch on the motor block from the sidecar. It gave him the impression he drove a semi automatic bike... It was very strange, but we both felt the urge of speaking german when riding through town. The locals must have thought we were nutzzz. Maybe we were, a bit, especially under the midday sun...

The contrast with the LT must be so huge that it is real fun to drive this one from time to time. They are too different to compare.

Have a nice day!

You are correct, there is no comparison. When I get on the LT now it feels like a rocket!

Most Ural owners know the history due to a Phenominon called UDF, Ural Delay Factor. You must add this time when planning any trip. Whenever you stop, people come up to you and ask about the bike. Gas stops are minimum 15 - 20 minutes due to UDF. But the bike is jsut so much fun to ride, and now I get to ride year round! Looking forward to a big snow storm!
