Failures during CCR and long way round ride.

Left mirror, front clip spring holder broke. Plastic holding the clip broke. Was able to clip back on but clip was loose and mirror floated a bit but functonal.

Rider Beads broke for my with two days left to got on trip. I can testify they really help. OEM seat was miserable without them. Had to remove them for the last day.

Lost left channel sound from radio. Turned out to be fault of Baehr noise suppressor. Took it out of the circuit to get full stereo again.

D ring broke on thermos bottle carried on side of luggage rack. Fixed with zip tie.

Larry fixed my rear brake light flasher at CCR, I had just taped the wires together. Thanks Larry.

6.500 miles and no FD failure. Nothing left me stranded. Oil was nice and black when I got home. Oil I won at CCR auction was waiting for me, beat me home. Changed it today.

Glad to hear you fared much better than we did last year, which was our long ride! Welcome home!

x2. And yes there is an interesting highest speed reading on my GPS display. Still haven't cleared that yet. LOL

GPS max speed? The best my '01 LT could sustain was 123 MPH enroute to CCR in the Great Smokey Mountains (2004?), fully loaded, 1-up, windshield down, crouched as if pretending it was a crotch rocket. What was your max?

I wasn't trying to see how fast the LT could go, and didn't go as fast as the LT could. I was just trying to keep up with Steve's GTL on the moutain curves. He knows how fast he was going, I wasn't looking at the speed too busy watching the road.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
