Are we riding yet?? Giddy-Yup!!

Weather really improved in the Midwest last week and was able to make the 100 mile round trip to work 3 times for the first time since November!

Looks like we are (largely) in the clear from pesky lingering frozen precipitation!

How are my brothers and sisters farther north doing?

My best to all!

-13C today, BUT the coming days we are supposed to get to +5C. This will help melt the mounds of snow & ice, so maybe we can get out riding by mid April...it's been a long and cold winter this year or am I just feeling it more .

OH MY, Phil! Sorry to hear that... at least you are in the + digits! I hope my post didn't sound insensitive to the "deep-freeze-dweller-nation"... I am just so ecstatic to be riding on a regular basis again!

It HAS been a long winter!

Hope it improves rapidly for you!

Same here. 64 and windy yesterday. Got blown all over the place but it was well worth it.

I've ridden to work 3 or 4 times in the past couple of weeks, and this week is looking good, too. About @#$% time.

Wow it will be 71 here in New Mexico today (been out here 3 weeks with the LT this time) and tomorrow when I head down to Big Bend I will see 91. I did bring the Gerbinings on this trip as I was exposed to a chilly 43 on the way ouy in February. (Sorry Joe)

Re: Are we riding yet?? Giddy-Yup!!

OK... I started this thread talking about the weather settling down in the MidWest, and this morning when I woke up in Lawrence, KS to 3 inches of snow and snow still coming down!!!

I about shat!!

Fortunately, the temps shot up to the mid 40s and by 5 PM all the snow was gone! After a cool morning start we're looking for daytime highs in the 50s... I'll be back in the saddle!

Re: Are we riding yet?? Giddy-Yup!!

I just insured the bike this last weekend after 4 months of it standing still (combination of a few things that were not in favour of bike riding), but it was great to get back out there on the road and only 2 wheels under me.
