Riding skills part deaux

When I watched the riding skills in another post, I out my two cents in worth. I also noted about the cameras being there. Once I reviewed the film again and again... Two things came into mind and both have been talked about.
1- target fixation, it can take you out..
2- stuff on the road.. Just because it isn't like HEAVY,doesn't mean it isnt there..

Which now leads to the reason for my post....
I really take a bit longer at times to ride as I put on the gear.. I survey the road conditions and TRY to ride safely and politely. This started out as one of those times..

Picture it.. NEW YEARS DAY- beautiful day to do those things that you want to do for the rest of the year...so... I worked on the chevelle, the things were going great.. Time to eat..I'll get on the GS and ride for Luby's! Put on the gear.. Take the lazy route there.. Just two miles, if that..
I get to the intersection.. Stop, look both ways, car behind me, signal and ease off.I lean and enjoy the scenery. My eyes now fixated to the next intersection 150 feet away. As soon as I straighten up, I go DOWN - SLAMMED as If I were a diet candy at a Cinnabons. I look and see the bike skitter across the road .. Ever so slowly..I was only doing about ten miles an hour... Scrapescrape.. It did it well. Shaking my head. A little from embarrassment, more likely from confusion, thoughts were HOW THE hell DID THIS HAPPEN.?
I get up, tension on the left boot.. Getting really tight now.. I walk.. Limp MRI the bike, shut the key off, pick it up and the guy that was behind me went.are you OK?I said yes, would you mind helping me get the bike up? He said the bike just went out like it was on Ice... As I helped another good guy came to help.. They wanted to call an ambulance and I said, no, I will see the docs after eating.. That was when I noticed the bones in the left boot were wiggling around.. ALOT. They helped me out and I got on, rode to the Lubys, which was only 200yards at this point.. And got off, or started to..I put the stand down, I get off on the RIGHT SIDE.. Good move.now getting to the front door .. Is a challenge.. The wife and thhe granddaughter are waiting and now see me.. Asking what had happened, I told them..they were hungry, so I told them bring me an ice tea..
Delerium set in, I start laughing as it's a he'll of a lot better than crying..
Ten minutes later I BEG THEM TO TAKE ME TO THE HOSPITAL.. Well, I get in the car and its a small car..so it hurts to be me..
After about five minutes.. Johnnie, says she doesn't want to go to THAT hospital, instead she wants to go to the OTHER hospital,me, I'm laughing quite thoroughly and say you can take me anywhe as long as it's to a hospital..

Get there- x-rays say it's multiple breaks above and including the ankle..they bandage me upandsay, see the orthopedic on Monday....MONDAY.? Whatabout Now?
So for three days. I keep feeling the breaks move around pop pop pop ..
And see the ortho he says gotta do it in two days...but I need docs oks.. Soi have to see all the docs and get their blessings while this bandage makes my bones go pop pop pop etc... No amount of pain meds can offset this.. I know it now...

So now ive had the surgery, seven screws two plates ..and a couple of cup holders for good measure...

The place went down..this is what is weird..
It's by a bar.. It's near some horses..
Someone, left the bar... And hit a horse...
Horse died...horse stayed there.
Horse decayed... City went there after many complaints...
Scratched heads.. Got a tractor... Got a trailer..lifted horse onto trailer.. Dripping stuff .. Yes stuff..
Got on road, to intersection, turned..and went down the road..
Weeks later.. Me riding..
Hit ..for lack of better wording grease spots.. Bike tosses rider...
I've got cabin fever. I cant go anywhere.

The bike, hell

Wow, sorry to hear about your spill, injuries and the pain that goes along with both. Now,see if you had ridden up to Waco and had lunch at Hooters with us you could have avoided the suffering.

Re: Riding skills part deaux

Sorry for the mishap but I'm having trouble getting a handle on a dead horse on the side of the road decaying for days/weeks!. A squirrel yes, a raccoon perhaps, but a horse. Where the hell is this that a dead horse sits on the side of a road and people have to complain about it.

Re: Riding skills part deaux

LOL my thoughts Were that
1- no one claimed the horse...
2-no one admitted to running over the horse.
3- it's in front of a bar called..... BIMBOS.
And as such it might have been confused with some of the christmas decorations aroundnthere.. I guess..

Afterwards, I noticed a sign say slow down, drive safe.. Lmao .. I was..

The car is a 72, Malibu, not sure what color it is going to be when she grows up,

She's gotten farther than this though..

Motor sounds tough . It's a green project, a 454 with throttle body injection so it should get mileage comparable to a Prius AHEM. COUGH. Maybe towing a chevelle ....
