Redundancy looms!

I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this?

I am about to feel the pinch of recession on my ass which will hopefully give me the opportunity to realise a dream!

My intention is to bring my R1200RT over from England and spend 18-24 months touring the lower 48+2!

Any tips, hints, ideas, places to go, pits to avoid, insurances required etc etc would be most appreciated.

Those that make my trip exceptional will qualify for a tray of Bud thrown as I drive by!

Kind regards

If you come down to North Carolina way, you are welcome to some floor space here, might even throw in a bed....

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying " I'll try again tomorrow".

Re: Redundancy looms!

Hope this is a blessing in diguise for you..

Texas is where we live.. great place for riding.. also... you could ride the "Easy Rider" route from New Orleans...just don't flip off any of my relatives... ahaha

We can help out in many ways.. but first you have to think about what you want to achieve!

Good luck.. and Enjoy...

Re: Redundancy looms!

I appreciate that cfell thank you. Route will be logged when i route to the Lone Star State.

I intend to arrive with my bike and an open mind. Beside the adventure itself, i want to seek out all the touristy bits, all the military history, my interest is mainly Vietnam. As a child i was stationed in Hong Kong and, with my parents, made many friends in the US Forces, particularly the USS Kittyhawk when it came in for R&R.

I guess I will have to soak in the part of history where we gave up the colonies!

I will probably do 50/50 motel/camping and just follow the weather best I can.

Thanks again

Kind regards
Glenn
