Moms dont tell you everything?

Good evening everyone.

I recently went on a road trip from Cleveland OH to Elizabeth City NC to visit my folks. Dad retired down there about 5 years ago. I took my LT great ride down and back except for 100 plus heat on the way back but no complaints really.

Back to reason for this thread. I pulled into my parents driveway in the afternoon with some anticipation for a long overdue visit. My Mom says what a beautiful and big bike.(same woman who told me no way in hell am I gonna get a bike as a KID!)

This gets better. My mom is from a small town outside of Munich ( Landshut)(spelling) and moved here as a 20 year old in 1960.

the next day at dinner my mom starts telling me about a story that when she was 14 her nieghbor Hans taught her how to ride a BMW motorcycle. I bleieve she said and thinks it was an R/71 but dont quote me.

So I had to ask?
And what was the reason I couldnt get that 1978 Suzook RM 125 with the Full Floater suspension?

The answer. Do you think I was gonna tell you that when you asked.
Absolutely not!

I did ask her if she wanted to go for a ride. she said those days are gone but not forgotten!

Have a great evening everyone, hope you enjoy the story!

Parenthood---Gotta Love it.

I always use the "do as I say, not as I do". Works until they get out of the home!

Great Story.

Maybe she thought BMW were the only REAL MC? hard to disagree with that wisdom.

Reminds me of the Cheap Trick song "Surrender".
