BMW rider killed in Cary NC

This is really sade news. He may have been a member of our forum. Cary is just next door to me.
All my sympathy to his family

----------------------------------
Henderson, N.C. A tractor-trailer driver faces murder charges after a Cary motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run wreck on Interstate 85 South in Vance County Thursday evening.

State troopers said that Michael Gray Rigsbee, 38, was driving a Volvo tractor-trailer that struck a 2010 BMW motorcycle ridden by Sean Christopher Newman, 39, near mile marker 220, north of Henderson, around 7 p.m. Troopers said the tractor-trailer did not stop.

Newman, of Cary, lost control of his bike, which struck the median. Troopers said Newman was thrown from the bike and died instantly.

Troopers pulled over the tractor-trailer driven by Rigsbee in Granville County, about 20 miles south of the wreck.

Rigsbee, of 1620 Pope Road in Creedmoor, was charged with second-degree murder, felony hit-and-run, failure to render aid and careless and reckless driving. He was given a $112,000 bond.

Troopers said they interviewed four other witnesses to the wreck.

Re: BMW rider killed in Cary NC

God rest this riders soul and comfort his family.

I can only imagine the shock that would drive the trucker to run....

No joy in any of that with exception that trucker was located and forced to face his "crime"... we can still call them that,"crime" right?

The tractor trailer driver probably didn't even know that he hit the bike. Sorry but I drove for 20 years and I know how hard it is to see things around you. Chuck
