Not the Status I wanted to See

I am waiting for the delivery of a new set of Pit Bull stands for my bikes. They are supposed to be here tomorrow. Or, based on the current status from UPS...not.

David, I'm sorry your stands got delayed, but that is a bit funny. Providing of course that no one was hurt.

Trains...? I thought UPS had better systems in place. Where's the dude that draws on the whiteboard when you need him? Seriously, hope you won't be delayed to long.

I work for UPS. Contrary to popular belief, the UPS person that picks up your package isn't the same one that delivers it across the country. I'm just saying....LOL

Re: Not the Status I wanted to See

Hal - I will admit I laughed out loud when I saw it the first time, mostly out of surprise but it also was just so, well, unexpected!

Rock1098 - You being on the inside at UPS , any idea what happens in these circumstances, or how I can find out how long it will take to get my stuff? I actually need these in the next couple of days so if the recovery time for something like this is measured in weeks (or infinity) I need to talk to the company I purchased them from about how to get replacements on the way. Thanks!

Who knows, they may be using your Pit Bull stands to lift the locomotives and cars back on the tracks.

Re: Not the Status I wanted to See

Rock1098 may be able to trump me but its transportation. Very small organization.. UPS most likely has a semi-out there unloading the semi trailers that were put on the train in order to get the packages moved through thir system. This is assuming that the train with your parcel was the one that derailed. Unlike over the road, there are very few "road" that trains can use, so it may be in essence a traffic jam. UPS CS would most likely not know the specifics only it is delayed. Think about it this way. When I was in Trucking we routinely told customers that their delivery was delayed because of weather. 80 closed, storm in Denver etc....Make your calls both to ups and better yet a judgement call....

Search google: UPS train de-railment...Numberous hits.
