MC Awareness Campain Article

Interesting article in today's local paper about a California campaign to raise awareness of motorcycles.

I was surprised by the reactions in the San Diego area and how different they were from the rest of the state. We must have more aggressive riders down here.

Re: MC Awareness Campain Article

It appears to be the whiny asses in cages who just can't f''ing stand it when a bike gets ahead of them.

And cagers should talk, if I could count the times people just flip lanes, no signals, without doing a quick head check at least, or best yet, do that run from the fast lane to the exit at 80 MPH all within 100 meters. Pure death for bikers, even ones who are not splitting.

And I just lluuuvvvv the double carpool lane speed cage racers crossing the line whenever they feel the need, totally unexpected of course.

Speeding is survival on the xways around here on a bike IMHO..not all the time but you can tell when things get hairy and its time to leave, quick, mostly due to the above.

I really don't understand why more people in this state don't use two wheels, especially if they want to whine about sharing the road.

I wonder what the whiner's would say if it was a sign about bicycles...just as bad as I have 10's of thousands of miles on those too and had similar road sharing problems.

I can't get no respect I luv that line, thanks Rodney!

I think these hyper-sensitive drivers are exploding their little bitch panties over a few crouch rocket riders, riding recklessly, and applying them to ALL motorcyclists. If the sign said, "look twice for other vehicles," OR, "stupid F'G CalTrans sign," would they then also whine like a bitch?

"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." (Some really OLD friggin' White dude who couldn't have possibly known what he was talking about!) WARNING: Official HATE speech!

Re: MC Awareness Campain Article

Well I'm over reacting really, but cheez, it gets scary out there, equating to more throttle at times. And I've split to leave agressive cagers on my tail when I had to at any speed.

The majority of drivers do cut bikers a lot of slack, I've seen lanes open up like magic in front of me for miles of parking lot traffic. And I know bikes are hard to see because I can't see them either.

I think the signs are ok and might help some, I guess if they have to light em up anyway might as well talk about bikes!
