Better pony up for some new tires . . . "saw sets, including that Michelin Power Race 190/55 ZR17 PRD Rear for as low as $275 online (plus mounting).
SOOO at the dealer that would be about $600+ mounted and balanced." *

Re: A Little S1000RR Stunting

Da Boyz got themselves a brand-spanking-new hot BMW supersport bike but they still gotta use a screwdriver to open the tailgate of their truck? WD40, anyone?

My local dealer has one on the showroom floor. The dealer-owner and his sales guys are going to Florida this week (I think) to spend time on the S1000RR on the track - some kind of dealer intro thing. Must be nice!

The dealers are meeting as we write this at PBIR (Palm Beach International Raceway) formally known as Moroso Motor Sports Park. Keith Code who owns and runs the California Superbike School is going to be there. He is the recipient of all the new bikes being demo'd there. His school has changed over to the Beemers after decades of using Kawi's exclusively.

I saw all the new bikes being prepped at my local dealership (441 Cycles) in Plantation, Florida 2 weeks ago. It was really a sight to see a dozen brand new RR's sitting together in the showroom.

I also do corner (safety) work at this track on CCS race weekends. They routinely host events such as this for BMW, Ferrari, Porsche, etc., as well as many sanctioned race organizations.

BMW is making big waves in the sport bike world and taking chunks out of the market share of the other big sport bike manufacturers. They are dead serious about what they are doing and so far are doing it very successfully. This bike is for real.

The dealers all received their bikes, but had to show up at the dealer intro show to get the keys.

The tailgate seems busted in the middle where the handle is, so I guess the screwdriver is the "right" tool!

Re: A Little S1000RR Stunting

Just in that short time you could see him progress in confidence. From the first wheelie and stoppie, to the last ones. Man that much power to drift like that with a flick of throttel.

What a bike and rider.

If all the stuff he did was not enough. he drove it up that ramp to a stop.

March '10 Rider has a decent two-page review starting on p.40. and even covered the Concept 6 and my hopes for a K1600LT on p.14.

I was at Lone Star BMW here in Austin last night when the Owner, Peter returned with the key. What a great looking & sounding bike.
