It's not just Beemers...

Did my good deed today and hauled a HD home that had the ignition system fail just like the Hall effect on our Beemers. Guy was very friendly and said he had over 100,000 miles on the bike and the ignition was still original. All bikes break down and there riders need help also.

Here in North Carolina when you loose your drivers license you can ride a scooter that goes no more than 35 mph. There is a limit to the horsepower but not sure what it is.

Imagine going down a two lane hwy. speed limit 55 rush hour & having to pass one of these ass holes. At least on my bike I can go around them with out crossing the yellow line. I have seen the same guy almost every day halfway to work now for almost five years now.

Last year one of them would ride past my house every day with an open 2 cycle chamber exhaust system. You could hear it a mile away. Sometimes the line of cars stacked up behind them is a half a mile long. I could go on & on I hope you get my rant on these dumb cycles that NC lets on our hwys.

Dave,
Illinois also allows scooters of 50cc or larger on the road. They are supposed to have a license but they still don't do 55 MPH either.

I prefer the term "DUI-Cycles".

That concept has been around in Germany for a long time. There is a whole class of mopeds and scooter on the market to meet the requirements of that group. Its 40 km/h and no more than 50cc's.

Maybe it's part of the punishment. I would find it very humiliating to ride to work or go on a date on one of those...

I think that just about every teeager in Europe rides one of these until they get the legal age to get a licanse and ride a "real" motorcycle.
Also because it is a cheap mode of transportation it is favored by high school college students.
