FIM World Superbike Final Race

On Speed Channel, Sunday 3:00 pm est. The last 2 races in Portugal, shown back to back. It's been a great season. Looks like it will either be the rookie, "Elbows" Ben Spies from Texas (Yamaha) or veteran, old man (30 something, ha) Noriega Haga (Ducati).

Ben's done some great things on the Yamaha and has managed to give Ducati (the superior bike imo) a run for their money. But Haga is healed now and runnig strong again. Advantage in Portugal? May not be one- Ben and Haga are about equally familiar with the track.

Re: FIM World Superbike Final Race

It has been a real interesting year in WSB . In the early part of the year , Spies would ether win , or be on the ground . Then when Haga got banged up , & Spies squeaked ahead on points . Now Spies has not finished up front , & Haga has a 10 point lead .

I just read that Spies is on pole for the 11th time this year , with a new track record ,and Haga didn't make the cut for final superpole . http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2009/Oct/091024d4.htm

Being an American , I am hoping Ben Spies wins , but I always liked Noriega Haga . A few years ago , Noriega was ask what he did for training to keep in shape . His answer was " lots of recreational Sex "

An American WSB champ-who would have thought. MotoGP next year. Ben has to contend with some really good riders--high hopes--motogp is really the best of the best. Of course, he could knock off Stoner just before race 1 by giving him the evil eye, sending that cry baby back to the shrink! Ducati (manufacturer) won inspite of his immaturity. Look out for Aprilia next year!
