I bought a Scrambler

Well, I talked myself into buying a used 2008 Triumph Scrambler to go along with the LT.

I think they makes a good combination - the LT is great for commuting, long rides, cold weather, night riding (better aftermarket lights), riding with a passenger, etc.

The Scrambler is great for commuting too, and just a "tad" better on gravel roads. It's fun to have everyone come up and ask how old it is and tell me about the Bonneville they had when they were young. It's sort of the same as the comment we get with the LT : "I didn't know they made motorcycles..."

I can see the engine without taking any plastic off, but I can't figure out where the final drive is!

Anyway, I'm enjoying them both greatly.

Re: I bought a Scrambler

It's the green and silver model - matches my shocking yellow jacket. The only problem is that I'm thinking I need to get a Belstaff or a leather jacket now to look the part!

LOL, it does match your jacket!

O-oh, is that oil coming out of your final drive? oh that's right, it's supposed to have oil on the chain.

Belstaff jacket and a Bell 3/4 helmet would make a good match for the era. I know that's what I had "back when..."

Re: I bought a Scrambler

Well, you gotta get an old skool metal flake helmet to go with that Belstaff!

I bought one of these to go with my '77 650. It's from Fulmer, $120.00. I've got a fat head and always take an extra large - but the large fits me well. Add a bubble shield, some Frye "engineer boots" and you'll be stylin'...

Re: I bought a Scrambler

That looks cool Ron!

I'm planning to attend the Harvest Classic rally in Luckenbach next month to see what the "other guys" are wearing and riding.

Bones, I'll be in Victoria every once in a while. Give me a holler if you want to get together sometime to check it out.

I'm commuting with it today and lucked out with no rain so far...

Yeah, Joe! I would love to see it. I have a buddy that bought a Bonnie and it's really cool. Sounds great.

Ah the memories , my first bike was a 1967 Triumph Trail Trophy 500 . The pipes are on the wrong side , but other then that , it's a spitting image of it .
