Out of the mouths of our elders!

It's a beautiful day here in North Georgia. Clear skies and 75 degrees at 3:00 pm! Yes, it's a bit cooler than usual.

We figured it was a nice day for a ride. So my wife and jumped on our K1200LT (The Magic Carpet) and went up to Canton and across to US411 and then across Fort Mountain on GA HWY 52 from Chatsworth. We stopped in Ellijay at a Subway for lunch just in time. The Magic Carpet was parked right out front. The church crowd started coming in after we got there. We were eating lunch and a little old lady (in her church clothes) who had to be in her late 70's maybe early 80's walks up, obviously seeing the BMW shirt my wife was wearing. She puts her hand on my wife's shoulder and says....now get this...."Bitchin' Bike". Then she asked "When did BMW start making motorcycles? And when did they start in this country?" I politely told her they's been making bikes longer than cars, since 1923. She smiled and told us she used ride on Indians when she was a lot younger. As she says that her husband is standing behind her grinning from ear to ear. They left the restaurant telling us "It's a beautiful day to ride too."
