A Somber Note
A Washington state man suffered serious injuries in north central Kansas on Tuesday afternoon when a coyote ran in front of his motorcycle, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.
Kent S. Skoug, 62, of Bothell, Wa., was driving his BMW motorcycle east on US-36 seven miles west of Belleville around 3:50 p.m. when he struck a coyote emerging from the south ditch. Skoug lost control, went into the south ditch and was ejected.
Skoug, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Belleville Republic County Hospital, KHP said. The patrol listed his condition on its Web site as “disabled.”
