Diesel

Reading another post of someone who admitted he filled the bike with Diesel once, I just got curious: how many of you did this mistake ?

I did it once. Someone before me had mixed up the nozzles and I took the Diesel one, stuck it into my Cagiva's fuel tank and managed to put 1 litre in it, before realizing that the nozzle was oily and stinky... just like the one I use for the car... OMG it's Diesel!

I went to panic for few seconds, then realized that it was only one liter. Added another 15 of premium unleaded and rode it with no problem. Bike was unusually smoother, which wasn't too bad with the Cagiva (same engine of the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 but more nervous and sporty).

Never had a problem on the bike after that :-)

Re: Diesel

While I have avoided this error so far I have dealt with three such events involving friends or family. In my dads case he put gas in his diesel truck leading to a cracked head. By far the most expensive oops of the three.
