My alternative

I no longer use the LT around town - ONLY for trips over 100 miles. I know we are fortunate to have this option, but we do.

Several weeks ago, I bought my wife a 2009 Spyder, and had to try it out, of course.

Parking lots are no longer an issue. Stop & go traffic [lane splitting is a fast ticker here], not an issue. Ripping around the country roads for a bit of R&R - a hoot. I must say, that if I have to clear a toy out, it won't be the Spyder....

I've looked at the other touring bikes - no thanks, and I wouldn't consider a "sport bike". So I'll keep the LT until it rusts away, and play on the new toy...

Just my $0.02.

Re: My alternative

Publicly I'd say that the Spyder is a motorcycle for people that don't know how to ride a motorcycle. Privately however, they do look like a lot of fun. Kinda like the whole moped and fat broad issue.

Hey! Welcome to the world of Spyder ryding!!

W got one a year ago last December. I spent much of last winter farkelizing it (with her help - she can get all the tupperware off in about 5 minutes. On her own!) We are off to Northern Ontario tomorrow.

One of the farkles is the sway bar from Evoluzione.net - I can throw the Spyder into a hairpin, with very little body roll!

By the way - check out Lots of great info, how-tos, and of course farkle sources! 8-D

Oh- Autocom for intercom, installs under the 'tank' and allows for Vox-operated 2-way (you supply the radios).

Re: My alternative

My wife bought one last Feb. it will turn over 20K this week end. I play on it a lot. It's always parked in front of all the bikes in the garage so I take it to run errands. I always get sidetracked when I take it and get home way later than planned. Good thing my wife understands these things and does it her self on occasion.

Re: My alternative

Good to see I'm not alone!! I've ridden ATVs for 35 years, and this is just like riding one on the street - legally!!

Those that throw sticks haven't ridden one..

Re: My alternative

Neat Item just not for me.

Ride what you like.

My only thing is if I can't ride on two I will ride on three, but this would not be my choice.

Too many wheels up front and not enough storage for me.

Saw a guy hammering one down I-81 the other day, seemed like he was really pushing it.
