My Wife Becomes a Biker

This is Peggy on her recently purchased 2005 Kawasaki Ninja 250. Okay. She hasn't gotten out of first yet...but she's working on it.

Re: My Wife Becomes a Biker

Congrats! I'm in the same situation as you and could not be happier.

My wife just completed her MSF beginner course; in the pouring rain, no less! (Here in Rhode Island, this course is mandatory to get a MC endorsement on your driver's license; someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we're the only state to require this.)

Well she's on her way to the DMV to get the endorsement added to her license.

For now she'll ride my old Aprilia Atlantic 200 (scooter), but she aspires for something bigger.

Congratulations to both of you. Very cool.

And nicely geared-up, too. She looks like a natural.

OK, I'll correct you. Florida changed their MC licensing laws about a year ago and now requires the MSF BRC in order to obtain a MC endorsement. If someone wants only a trike/sidecar endorsement they can opt to take the newly implemented S/TEP (Sidecar/Trike Education Program).

OH yea, Congratulations to the Wife. Just remember, Practice, Practice, Practice!

Yep. We're ATGATT people. She's been riding as my passenger for a long time and has ridden in full gear for quite awhile.

Re: My Wife Becomes a Biker

My wife took her MSF beginner course in 07, She started with a small buell and graduated to a Dina in 6 months. Now she drives a Soft Tail. She likes BMW's but are to tall for her, she is only 5' 2" and can not reach the ground. Now she loves to ride and has put over 10,000 miles since last summer We are going to the MOA in July and she is looking forward to it We are having a great time and know that you and your SO's are going to enjoy life together even more Practice, practice and have a good time
