Apologies (Wildcat Mtn St. Park)

My apologies to the 2 up LT riders that tried their best to converse with me Sunday around 2pm at Wildcat Mountain State Park in Wisconsin. I was participating in the "Bonzai Rally" and had to grab a picture of the state park sign, then run up to a state park northeast of the twin cities and then back down to Winona, MN by 7pm and I was rapidly running out of time. If you are a longdistance rallyier you know time management is one of your greatest enemies. Any way, I usually will talk your ear off about the pro's and con's of the LT but just couldn't afford to spend the time on Sunday. I was not trying to ignore you or be a jerk and if we meet up again, we'll talk all you want and I'll buy.

I have LD friends who had business cards made that said something like "Thanks for your interest. I don't mean to be rude, but I'm on a very tight time schedule. You can read more about LD riding at the following websites. Or email with any questions and I'll be glad to answer them once I get back home."

With links to the appropriate websites and other pertinent info added. Then if they're really pushing the clock, they can simply hand over a business card, smile, and be on their way.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

No apology needed. I have to admit that I was actually thinking I don't want to be associated with this guy. There was a park ranger on one side of you and a sheriff coming up behind you. It looked like a good time to leave to me. We understood you had a time issue. I think we both said "nice bike" at the same time. We were on a "no brain required" tour. No destination or time to be anywhere. So did you make the time limit? How did you do on your hunt? I would like to hear the story sometime. Sounds like fun. Of course I will let you buy the 1st one. You probably put more miles on in one day than we did all weekend. I hope you had a good time.

It's not where we go. It's that we go.

The information from this site and its members has proven to be invaluable again.

Barney, thanks for understanding. I aborted the Northern State Park after Wildcat Mtn, I knew I would have to average well above the posted limit's to make it so I headed on over to beutiful Cream, Wi, got lost and barely made it back by 7pm. But it was a beutiful day and a great ride.
