Triumph Tiger demo ride

I recently got an opportunity to ride an '09 Triumph Tiger.

Very impressive. The engine was smoooth, powerful, charasmatic, and produced an intoxicating sound.

Ergos were very roomy, and handling was light and responsive.

With a decent windshield this could be a great tourer/everyday bike.

Worth a spin if you get the chance.

Re: Triumph Tiger demo ride

If my wife liked sitting on the back of a Tiger, I would have one right now. I test rode one and loved it. She said she sat up too high and got too much wind. I love my R12RT but that Tiger was awesome. I bet service would be better too because there is more than 1 Triumph dealer in my area.

Re: Triumph Tiger demo ride

I have an 07. It's has a great engine fast and smooth great power BUT expect to get fork work done and a new shock when it sacks in. The valving is for about a 120lbs rider

My wife won't ride the tiger because of the forward slope of the seat

The Tiger is a great bike, two guys in our club have them but are always commenting on their excesive fuel consumption.

I think I've heard Tiger owners talking about upgrading suspension. Maybe that is what they were referring to.

What kind of upgrades did you do.

BTW...Nice Tiger. If I move to Arizona, I may sell the RT and go with a Tiger, as I'll need less of a touring bike.

Re: Triumph Tiger demo ride

Traxxion did my forks they seem fine and I had a guy in Idaho mod my shock but it's not quite right ( not enough compression valving. I can deal with it till I get a penski

Thanks it's a good bike I just wish they would have not gone cheap on the suspension.

I get 200 mile per tank when touring easy, less hammering around town.

Re: Triumph Tiger demo ride

A friend had a Tiger and loved it. It felt much lighter than my GT, and was almost as fast at any legal speed. His also benefitted from some suspension upgrades.

Any decent custom seat maker can sort that out for you.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
