Re: Going to Germany !

The bikes are produced in Berlin and I would consider October for the trip. Not only would that give you time to schedule your tour, or maybe even check on your custom-ordered bike, you might also enjoy Oktoberfest. Munchen is great in October; watch out for the chicks carrying two-fisted liters of bier.

Enjoy the tour!

Re: Going to Germany !

BMW Motorrad Days Rally is in early July in Garmisch two hours away from Munich. This is well worth the visit.

Vienna has a great BMW Motorrad dealer. But they do not have shop shirts :-) Great coffee and drinks. I even got a free gift, an umbrella. It was raining when I got there

I did love it Cookie. Excellent video. Like the sound too.
I don't know if my wife could handle that ride too well. She's bred & born a flat-land girl. Not to mention that's all we have around here.

Re: Going to Germany !

Germany is a big country...where are you going? I know the south pretty well and could advise if you're going towards Austria...it is lovely biking country down there

Ps Orval and Leffe are from Belgium! I could recommend breweries as well as roads if you're going south!

If you wait till October for Octoberfest, then you missed the beer boat! Octoberfest is usually the last week in Sep Ahh, the "modified state of mind" memories! Now I want to go back!

I did the BMW plant tour last time I was there. You will need to book it many weeks in advance. (they say 3 months). It was a great tour.

Here is info about it http://www.r1150r.net/tour/infoenglish.pdf

Most of Oktoberfest is in September...yeah, I know...go figure. For 2009: September 19th to October 4th.

In München? There is BMW Niederlassung München on the Frankfurter Ring at Knorrstrasse; GPS N48 11.257 E11 34.489

Then there is a slew of motorcycle shops, Louis, Hein Gericke, Polo and others on Balanstrasse, thats just west of the Ostbahnhof about 5 -10 minutes on foot. GPS N48 07.434 E11 35.816
