Officer Down

I don't know what model of bike he rode, but it was a BMW. His daughter rode as well. They both were killed this past weekend. He was a LEO as well.

Re: Officer Down

Just so sad, a father and his young daughter. What a pain it must be for their family. Can't imagine.

Bob do you know if Timothy was a Blue Knights brother? Havn't got any message from Blue Knights yet.

Another officer down the last few days: Richmond officer, Bradley Moody (29), who was an organ donor saved a life of a critical ill patient in San Francisco, that had been given less then a day to live.

Bradley crashed his cruiser into a light standard on Marina Bay Parkway saturday morning while responding to backup another officer at the scene of an assult.

Be safe

Unhappy Re: Officer Down

They were returning from the BMWMOA event Color in the Catskills.
I belive they were on a RT1200 as there were photo's of them posted on the MOA board from the weekend. Some think they may have tried to avoid a deer since there are many in that area. I live not that far from there and I can attest that deer are every where especially this time of the year and that time of day.
This put a very sad ending to what was a perfect weekend. So cool always to see a parent and child doing something like this together, just so sad it had to end like this.

I always hate to hear something like this happening. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family.

Condolences to all family and friends, and to all of us in general who even in the smallest way, feel the distress of a sudden departure of fellow riders.

Re: Officer Down

Absolutely Horrible.
From a fellow MSF instructor. This is how I heard about this.

"Tim Lambert was my ERC student, got a perfect score, was a Motor
Officer for numerous years, and Rider Coach candidate. This guy was an
excellent rider.

Taylor Lambert was my BRC student and finishing level II this coming
Saturday. Words can't describe my grief"

Re: Officer Down

If is wasnt' a deer or other animal, it could of been a medical issue, either way what a sad loss.

I purchased my RT1200 partly so my Wife could ride 2 up with me (my sport bike would not be a good choice for a passenger). We have since decided that it is not a good idea to have her as a passenger, we have 2 children and I don't want to take any chances of them losing both of us at the same time.

I've been out of town since I started this thread and haven't heard any thing further on the accident. Nothing was mentioned about him being a member of the Blue Knights

Re: Officer Down

Thank you Bob. No, Tim was not a BK member as far as I've learned, but he was a BMW Owners Association member. Still wonder what the cause of the accident was. As far as I've read, the accident happened on a straight lane, with dry asphalt. Could it have been a final drive failure that locked up his rear wheel? Maybe Lzyellodog could come up with something from his fellow MSF instructor that knew Tim when the investigiaton is finished?
