Honda CH250 Scooter Help Needed

I know this is not the correct forum for this, but thought since many of you helped me with my 2002 K1200LT, so, thought I would throw this out there.

I am having backfiring issues and think it may be the air cut-off valve.

Anyone have an experinece with a Honda CH250 scooter?

Thanks.

Re: Honda CH250 Scooter Help Needed

I have a Honda Pacific Coast 800 next to my '08 LT, and when that backfired a lot, I had a leaky exhaust. Might be a thing to check... Other than that, I am not a techie

Backfiring through the carb or through the exhaust? Two different problems with different courses of resolution.

Check the intake manifold for cracks , it may be sucking air in . The Helix's are known for that problem . Especially the older ones .

Backfiring through the exhaust.

I replaced the exhaust gasket, cured it for about 30 miles.

Also heard it could be a lean pilot setting. So, I made it richer by turning out pilot screw 1/2 turn. Actually made it worse.
