Reusable Oil Filter

One of the guys in the local club I belong to just purchase an reusable oil filter and had it with him last night at dinner. He paid $130.00 plus shipping. I have to say this thing is a work of beauty. It's made so nice you just want to leave on your desk as a conversation piece. Below is the link to manufactures web site. Anyone tried one of these filters?

You are onto something:

Put it on your desk, it is guaranteed to start conversations. Also, go ahead and buy about ten OEM filters for about the same amount of money. That should be close to a lifetime supply and be assured that they will do a great job filtering your oil.
Should that be too expensive... just skip the conversation piece...

Huh? $130? The value of US dollar must be dropping faster than I thought...

By the way, as I presume from manufacturer's site, it has to be "sonic-cleaned" by them - I am only guessing that this costs as much as a stock filter.

So, you guys are right: it is an object of art. Especially since no one could appreciate its beauty when installed in the innards of a K-motor.

$130.00 for an oil filter? I always thought they cost 2.49 at Wally World.

Re: Reusable Oil Filter

I believe it also only filters to 30 microns, which is how they get the high oil flow rate.

My heart goes out to you. There are many quite good filters that work well on an LT. Many are car designated and I have used NAPA Gold and Super Tech filters on my K100 and LT for tens of thousands of miles for $2.50 to 5 bucks a pop. Go to ibmwr.org and look at the various articles on substitute parts for a list.
