Re: Back n Black

That whole total-black treatment is very, very nice. You've created a truly unique look -- at least, I've never seen an LT like it. All the lower fairings and chrome pieces done in black are very cool.

Dave,

That is quite a sleek looking bike. I likey!
Now go get some smoked turn signals to get rid of the orange slices up front.
It might be nice to get some a black hardware kit too.

Hell, why not just make it invisible?!

It looks great, but will the A-holes in cages see you coming, going, or passing?

Well, OK, the abundance of lights up front should do the trick in the coming direction!

Re: Back n Black

Very Nice

Black used to be my preferred color in my younger years, on every vehicle.

Man, Black and Chrome, done right, is just plain classic.

Black and Red is very sweet in this case.

Often wondered what a solid colored LT would look like.

I am curious on the question of whether you powder coated the metal, or is it painted?

WOW,,,,Thanks for all the kind words! Nice to hear all the positive responses. I was very happy with the way it came out but, this paint stuff is very subjective.....right. The wheels are painted Kandy Apple over a bright Gold base. The wheels on my old bike(yellow) where painted and held up well and I didn't want to have to jack with the brand new bearings and seals to do p/c. I am looking for some clear/smoke lens today, I had thought about em but it became pretty obvious once I got it together! I am still thinking about the black hardware as there is silver that is hard to get rid of still scattered around. In a recent Auto Body industry magazine study Silver cars were most likely to be involved in an accident, I realize that a solid Black bike probably isnt the "safest" color but heh, aren't they all invisible?

Ahhh shucks... how about some "stickers" to dress it up a little ??

That paint on the wheels is totally kewl - it looks anodized.

Amazing artistry. Tasty. Simple is GOOD. I want one.

Paints' not that bad(@2K) The R&I is a pisser, and if you do the R&I yourself you have to deal with logistics if you want to paint the small bit of exposed frame. The only part of the R&I that really sucks is the alarm/central lock equipped bikes have some wires attached to the side case handles that are a bit of a pain. Other than that no big deal

Re: Back n Black

D,
Very nice! How about the LT badge and strakes in the same red as the wheels? BTW my bike looks as good as the day you sent it to me and is still the nicest looking RT I've seen.

Hey Stephen, Thanks, I was just thinking about you the other day, glad to hear the RT is good!. I haven't seen you posting in the BMW forums much since you bought the Duc. The emblems getting painted red are on my short list, wasn't sure if I wanted all of the chrome gone or just most of it also haven't figured out how to remove the little bar on the rear of the trunk lid Good hearing from you!

Awesome paint job. When is the flame job going to be applied?

Re: Back n Black

I'm a little late to this party but I gotta say -

That's the best damn LT I've ever seen! Wow.

Love that monochrome color and the wheels absolutely set it off.

That is one great looking LT. I bet you have some GTL owners drooling at the color and style.
