Does anyone know the best place to go at this Bikefest? I know the Metric show is Sunday.

You can see the event schedule here; http://leesburgbikefest.com/Bikefest/index.htm

However, and this is just my opinion, the best place to be during this event is anywhere OUTSIDE of a 100 mile radius of Leesburg. They say they're expecting between 300,000 and 350,000 people at the event. That's probably a slight exaggeration, however anything approaching that number of people in or around Main Street Leesburg at one time will probably result in Oxygen starvation and possible death. And if that doesn't get you the stench of hot sweaty leather and the noise from Vtwins with drag pipes will!

If that ain't the thruth, I just happened to be over that way today,

wanted to check out a place I'd heard about for a possible RTE (Lake Harris Hideaway)

Didn't have a clue about the bikefest, got there before 11am,
20-30 bikes in the parking lot,

had a burger and watched them continuously rolling in,
Are y'all always this busy? I axed! ........... duh!

I was the only BMW in the lot and didn't stay long,
didn't fit in as I didn't have a pirate costume.

Holy Crap!!!
I just sold my house there last May.
Thanks God I don't live there anymore to hear that crap...

Did you know that is where Paris Hilton got thrown from the horse several years back.

I lived on Sikes Cow Pen Road, it is the road that goes straight off of Soult.

Re: Leesburg Fl Bikefest

I arrived there this morning around 9AM and it was already packed, I left there around 1PM cause I could not stand the crowd any longer, you could not see the bikes passing by on main street for the people you literally had to stand out in the street, there were crowded lines at everything the prices were out of sight and even some of the vendors were complaining that it was too crowded, way worse than Daytona. The city fathers really need to move this out of the old downtown area it just is too restricted, this use to be a nice getaway but about three years ago it became too big for it's home many of the vendors are moving away from the down town area, I saw vendors parked everywhere, I even came across a guy with a motor home and some chairs watching the parade out on 27 north a mile or so away from the center of town. I was surprised to see someone that far away but there were plenty of bikes going by so I guess it was better than being in the middle of the circus.

Re: Leesburg Fl Bikefest

The crap I refer to would be the Biker A$$holes with the loud pipes who are drunk at 0100 who have decided to ride home.

The average home owner in the Croom Management Area, lives there for the peace and quiet, not to hear Obnoxious Harley owners with loud pipes.

Loud pipes do not save lives.
Loud pipes piss off the neighbors.

How About 6' 3inch Stacks ???????? And Not All Harley Oweners Ride Around A 100 In The Morning Drunk Crackin There Pipes Seems Like A Lot Of Stereo-typing Against Harleys Here We All Ride For The Same Reason Because We Like 2 Don't Matter 2 Me What U Ride As Long As Its In A Safe Manner And Courtious 2 Others. Freedom Of Choice On What You Ride

Not stereo typing, I just know the crowd that Jimmy Batton hangs out with.

All of the BMW's with the loud pipes really gets the population upset.

Hey Hans,
The Hideaway is only about 10 minutes from my house. Even without BikeFest they do a fairly brisk BIKER business on weekends and as you probably learned, parking is sparse.
If your interested in another place up this way the Red Wing Restaurant just south of Groveland on RT 33 is a decent place. http://www.redwingrestaurant.com/
Had dinner there last week with a couple of friends. Great food! They have a room in the back that can handle about 25 and a covered, screened dining area next to that than can seat around 50. Parking is ample although it's mostly grass. Check the link above for more info. I'm guessing they may also do some biker business on weekends although I have no experience in that area. Any way, just thought I'd pass it on.
