Thumbs up Today is my first day.

Riding to work, that is. Many of you know that I got a new gig last Fall. Well, today is the first day since then that I felt it was time to pull into the parking lot on the GT. Don't ask me why ... they all know that I ride (a lot). I gotta tell you, it felt really good. My boss saw it on his way into the school. He had lots of questions, and he asked about my ride to STC. Good deal.

I guess I'll be riding the bike tomorrow...

I'm curious why anyone gives this a second thought? Is it strange to ride a motorcycle? If it was a chopper and you had the motorcycle gang look, I can see where that my seem strange for a teacher, but on normal bike, I just don't get it.

Then again, there's a lot I don't get. Glad you had a nice ride in.

Remember Bob, we live out on the left coast where folks are generally much more accepting of others. The further east you get, and the further south, the less that is the case.

Not too shabby for leaving the Iron Horse at 11:00am. That's about a 60mph average with 3 stops for gas.

Not bad.

I normally stay for the Sunday Service but my eye was giving me fits so I left IH earlier than usual.

A good example of wrong.
Had a safety man at work started riding. That in itself wasn't a problem. Just his riding apparel:
dew rag
bandana
T shirt
jeans
tennis shoes

Re: Today is my first day.

Joe, I'm also surprised to hear (sorry if you already mentioned this in another post) that you felt it was necessary to be on the new job for awhile before riding to work. It sounds like there was a concern regarding some issue of Political Correctness, but... riding a motorcycle? Perhaps you work for a verrrry conservative school district, or perhaps they all think of the negative stereotypical biker?

Either way, keep ridin' that thing and show 'em they can't push Messenger13 around!

"No Radio"

Hey Joe Congratulations!
And thanks for answering my question about the radio not coming on after having the battery disconnected. NOW, it just gets more silly and I'd like to know from somebody if this situation is permanent. I took my K1200LT in to the shop for a clutch on the 29th of November last year. Well, long story short I got it back last Friday. I can not get the radio to function, it only says "NO RADIO" I finally found my manuals and it doesn't mention a thing about this situation. Anybody had this experience? And if there were a code in my manual where would I find it? I do have a card that says:
RADIOPASS
Typ/Model (Then Gerate / Serial-Nr.

The two shops that I hae spoken with along with Joe seem to think I have to call Germany!

I'm really frustrated and stumped. Any advise?

Thanks, Pete from Asheville, NC
