Test Ride Today

I had some extra time and took a test ride on an Honda Gold Wing today. I have to say I was very surprised. Although it felt like I was riding a toy motorcycle, it was very smooth and nimble. The throttle was a lot easier to turn and the lower center of gravity was very noticeable. Of course, it didnít have the power at the higher speeds that my LT has, but it was quieter, and my girlfriend said she liked the back seat much better. But, to me it just seamed like a smaller bike; maybe a shorter wheelbase. I felt a bit cramped (Iím 6í and about 220 lbs.) and felt like I was sitting to low.

I guess thatís why thereís Chocolate and Vanilla, everyone has different tastes. But, it would be nice to have some of the features of the Wing on the LT.

What are your thoughts?

Re: Test Ride Today

Jim,
I too, when I had my 01 wing I felt the seat was pushing me forward,(cramped) like a 20K wegey........I had a place remove the little back padding and that helped a lot.

Also my wife stated the same about the wing back seat. She like it better than the LT.

Since changing the wife/GF will cost you half, better make it the M/C!

Re: Test Ride Today

Thanks for the report.

I've yet to demo one of the GL1800's. And I've owned many Goldwings. (1)1000, (3)1100, (2)1200, & (2)1500's.

Ride On!
