Back to OHIO from STC

Hey guys thanks for the great time at STC, I left this morning for LItchfield Ohio at 6:30 am and just got in the house at 4pm.

I know you guys say the Dragon is awesome and that it is, but ever try doing it in the rain, double the fun!!!! although I didnt do any ZOOM ZOOM action, and where was the Killboy dude, Whimp.

It rained all the way to Kentucky ,then I dried out nicely, only to be dumped on again in the HATED city of Cinn. all the way to Mansfield.

Hope you guys heading to Ohio have better weather on Sunday.

Out
Glen

Re: Back to OHIO from STC

Glad you're home safe and sound, Glen.

I left at 10:30, about an hour after the rain stopped. Made it home 9 1/2 hours later. Hit rain just 4 miles from the Iron Horse; that lasted just a few minutes, though. When I went through the Tail of the Dragon the road was alternately dry or wet, depending on what was in the shade. A semi had tangled with one of those @#$% Honda S2000s earlier; the semi was parked at Deal's Gap Resort and the Honda was still on the scene of the accident talking with local law enforcement.

Thanks again for your help with my personal Tech Session.

Re: Back to OHIO from STC

To part of the Ohio contingency, glad to see all you all and Glen it was good to meet you.

I left around 9 or so and had that LONG ride ALL the way back to North Georgia! Took me a whopping two hours to get home!

Joe should make it back later on tonight.

Again, it was good to see you all and glad you all made it back ok.

Also, thanks to Joe (messy13), John Zeiler and Lynn for supervising my minor bike repair(s)! No leaks from the bleed tube when I got home and brake light flasher is still working!

You are welcome Howard. The purple stuff I was talking about is Castrol "Super Clean" degreaser. They sell a small pump spray bottle and also in gallon jugs (to re-fill the little bottle). Just don't get a lot of it on your hands as it is sodium hydroxide, kind of nasty on skin.

Re: Back to OHIO from STC

Well not to Ohio but just got back today, Sunday, to New Jersey. Rode with Dave from Philadelphia and Rob from Long Island and we parted company in Maryland (after gasing up). Left at 6am from the Iron Horse and hit torrential downpours in the Washington DC area from about 2 to 3:30 pm.

Just under 800 miles in one day for me. Just under 14 hours. Short stops for eating and gasing up. Got home safe and sound thanks to the LT!

Wait a minute! I made it home in just over 10 hours, and I live 2 hours further north!

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I was doing 10+ over the posted speed limit the whole way. 3 stops for gas (the last one just 2 miles from home), 1 pee break at a roadside rest stop, and a 30-minute stop for lunch. I ran the last tank of gas without stopping - a first for me. I don't know how I could have made it home any faster.

You must have been flying low.
