YeeHawww

This past Saturday, I went into my garage to start cleaning and preparing my RT for the first Spring ride. It was in the low forties and sunny. I cleaned for about ten minutes and then said, "What the heck." I shoved the key in the ignition, fired her up and away I went. Yes, it was cold and windy. Yes, the roads were a mess. And, yes, I have been smiling since. Winter is dead, my friends. Spring is here and it comes with a joy that no one who lives where the snow doesn't fly, could ever comprehend. A toast to all my Northern brethren, "We made it, and here's to the open clean roads. And the warmth of the Springtime sun."

Re: YeeHawww

Funny how temperature is relative. I've ridden the BMW at 16 and 19 (F), and was comfortable, the Harley at 21 and cold, then took the beemer out for a 500 mile day, started at 31, got up to the mid 40s, then 33 when I got home and darn near died. So cold I was shaking uncontrollably. Guess the time in the saddle had as much to do with it as the temp. And learned a very valuable lesson: those bags on the side? They can carry a lot of warm clothing! Who knew?!?

I'll toast to you Roy, but I can't agree with you just yet. Winter is still very much alive in northeast Ohio! This is ridiculous!!!

One word: "Gerbing's"! And then you can stop carrying all of that extra clothing.

'Course, I'd be happy to hold a place for LTBrown at the retirement home around the corner. (Do ya' think they have resident motorcycle parking?)

Re: YeeHawww

I did my first commute to work this morning. A balmy 27 degrees when I left the house, didn't get much warmer on the 60 mile ride in. At least it will be around 34 on the way home!
Tonight's forecast: more snow showers. I'm bummin'.
