Panasonic lead Battery??

Anybody know what "TYPE" of battery this is? I was asked this question and I don't have a clue? So I'm just being curious also if this is one of those dumb questions just consider the source.

Re: Panasonic lead attery??

AGM is the way to go these days, and pretty sure the attery you are talking about is AGM.

Re: Panasonic lead Battery??

This is the UPS battery that I was told to buy from someone on this site.

So far it is working perfect, and the price is right.

Re: Panasonic lead Battery??

I suppose you can't beat that price. Its a 22 amp hour battery too. stock is 18 and the panasonic being 20. Only time will tell if its a good deal.

Re: Panasonic lead Battery??

Perhaps someone with a bit more tech battery knowledge can clarify, but as I understand it, UPS batteries are not designed for a significant load/discharge when starting something like a motorcycle.

UPS battery design would have a modest initial load when the UPS circuitry switches over to the battery source.

Re: Panasonic lead Battery??

You would be surprised what a UPS Battery of this size can do.
This isn't a UPS battery for a small backup.
These batteries are for UPS' with multiple batteries which which are actually powering and protecting the equipment that is connected to them.
There is no doubt in my mind that these batteries can handle the LT.

My concern is road wear, for those of use who ride aggressive and beat our bikes to death.

Here is what I replied to a PM:
I have the '02 LT and the battery was a perfect fit.
I beleive '02, '03, '04 bikes are pretty much the same.

As for the battery tender, it should not be an issue, if you will even need it.
This battery is a UPS replacement battery.
A UPS that would take this size of battery would always be taking a constant charge.
The main purpose for this type of UPS is to take the 110-120v AC in then change it to 12DC. Then push it back out to your electronics at a clean 110V.
This way your expensive electronics never get a power surg. The battery will always take any power surge and kill the UPS.

Now on the other hand, I don't know how the battery will take the pounding of riding on a motorcycle.

BecketMa turned me onto this battery. I have only been using it since November. I attached him on this, he may have some added input.

For the cost it is well worth trying out.
You can buy two for the cost of one MC battery.
