Refrigerant/water-cooled shirts....

I've been in contact with Harold Johnson (Vice President of Sales) at COOLSHIRT.NET about their cooling systems for motorcycle drivers/riders.

You really need to get into their website, and check this system out.

Anyway, Harold is willing to work with us (spelled D-I-S-C-O-U-N-T) if a bunch want to get this for their rides.....I know I'm going to.

May be a bit early in the year to be thinking about it......but here it is.

Anybody interested?

Hi Don

Well, I went back to http://coolshirt.net/motorcycle-cool-bag.html and see that the 12Qt set-up is $399.95 with the 6Qt going for $389.95..........but this is before any discussion of a discount......so you can maybe figure 10% or better for the discount.

Well you guys.....I have to apologize to you all. The fellow I'd been emailing about the CoolShirts evidently thinks that we're too small for him to deal with...........plus after not really getting answers to several questions, I'm throwing in the towel and won't be dealing with him. The link to their site is up in the original post......If you are interested at all............by all means, have at it. It's easier for me to NOT deal with folks who just aren't service oriented like they should be. Best of luck.

Cool shirt

I talked to a Gold Winger that had a shirt cooling system..

It worked great- but only for a few hours. In order to extend his time, he had to use Dry Ice and that still didn't get him a lot more, but the cost did.

He also had to give up his top box space to the mechanism.

So...............stop and refill with ice and water. As for space.....I think in the year 2023 they're going to have one that works on only a teaspoon of water.

Re: Refrigerant/water-cooled shirts....

I use a Sahara cooling vest when the temps get 90 or above. I keep it in a doubled (2 bags) large zip lock bag, I will fill it with cold water and just let it sit in the bag and absorb the water then I put it on the bike and when I need to use it it's ready. It will last me depending on the temp and humitity a couple of hours. I find that it works better with a jacket that doesn't flow air like a t-shirt. My Killimajaro Air jacket is perfect for it. When I get gas or need a butt break first thing I do is fill up the bag and stuff the vest in then as we are ready to go i take it out and put it on and pour the rest of the water on me, I will refill the bag depending on where we are going. I have never used it in a really humid climate but it is great for the southwest. I think it cost me $60 a few yrs back, paid for it's self the first trip i used it on.
