I got an Andy Strapz Abag as well as Flat Strapz and Piggyback Strapz. These items are from Australia and the strapz are the best I have ever seen and I'm sure his bagz are of equal innovation and quality. I can't wait until we have our first nice spring day to try them out.

I'm getting to where I don't really need much more for the bike - yippee.

But my wife is quite astute. She surprised me with a new alarm clock!

An alarm clock you say? WTH?

Well, she knows that I have an old 2nd generation Ipod that doesn't hold a battery charge well and that my Icelink unit is set to charge only when playing and is switched by the ignition so as not to drain the bike battery. So, I leave it in the house on a charger and only use it on longer rides, not daily.

She's been wanting me to get a new alarm clock to replace the dinosaur we had. She found a very nice looking unit that has an Ipod docking station on the top, it charges and plays the Ipod very well.

So that's my bike gift, and I was really impressed with her technical ability to solve several problems at once.

Merry Christmas

John

The Firstgear Kilimanjaro 4 Jacket in Yellow I was hinting about, asking here about and drooling badly over. Didn't think she'd do it - but she did!!

Fits perfect.

You're gonna love those wrenches Grif. I went a long time before a got a couple of sets of spanners with the box end that is hinged and rachets. Sometimes the ratcheting box end is a little big for the application but most of the time, it is the tool to use when a socket isn't called for.

I got me a couple more Battery Tenders so I don't have to roatate chargers around between bikes so much during the winter months. One more rung up on the quality of life ladder.

Livin' large in the deep south of Vermont.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Two sets of Torx screwdrivers - a normal sized set and a small set with tiny heads. Not sure where I'll use em, but thanks. A pair of Hein gericke "speedy pants" - black jeans with some protective elements. And weird zipper rear pockets with no pulls (!).

A pair of first gear riding gloves.

Kids got proper m/c/ jackets and gloves.

And some convertible canvas cargo pants. Not the best for m/c use, but acceptable for me. And legs zip off for shorts. Great for summer trips.

A set of pivotal Torx keys. You can find them on eBay. Nice to have for BMW motorcycles.

P.S. +1 on the ratcheting wrenches.

A good read

Book gift from a fellow rider which I am halfway through:

Title: One Good Run: The Legend of Burt Munro by Tim Hanna

If you enjoyed The World's Fastest Indian movie and enjoy reading biographies, the personal history of Burt Munro is fun reading. Quite a character and a remarkable guy.

Quess my gift was instigated by my riding partner asking if I knew what that little cable with loops in the LT tool bag was for ?
I rolled my eyes, giving a chuckle pretty much made my point.

He gifted me a 2 Helmet lock device that attaches too licence place screws.

Nice !

OK, I admit it -- I deserve that. But my thinking is: if I get enough tools, eventually I'll have to use them.

I could always use the metric wrences on my VW. I think I know where the hood release is.

A slightly used, bright red, two-piece BMW Gore-Tex riding suit. Perfect for those long rides which inevitably stretch into the evening.

I recieved a gift card for Wally world, was planning on buying oil for the Beerburner. Only now I cant find it, I discovered Miss E had it and now it is gone!!

I also recieved one of them newfangled battery powered drill motors, so now I can remove the tupperware anywhere!

For the piece de resitance, I now have an I-pod 80G, I have about 2000 songs on it now and still adding more. Now I just need to get the hook up for the Beerburner!

HOHOHO Merry Christmas everybody!!!!

Nuttin for me. BUT W got a Spyder (which of course arrived the day before the snow started). So I had to get her a J&M communicator and a HeatTroller for it as well. Now we just gotta have salt-free roads . . . .
BTW them Spyders are a fun ride, even if they ain't 2-wheelers.

Wife was kind enough to get me a Garmin GPS. Included with the unit was a 49 page users manual. Unit is being returned. I can't imagine the need for anything to be that complicated. 49 pages? Please. I'll buy a map or two.

New transmission arrives tomorrow, after 3 weeks of waiting. Just need the rest of the parts to come in so it can all go back together

I asked for the ridiculously overpriced BMW drink holder, and I got it. I told my wife I would never spring that much for it, but she could get it as a gift if so inclined. It will make a good place to put a radio.

Happy New Year too all,

I ordered a Baher intercom from the Raffy, great price but he had too order it! He told me he shipped it on the 24th, it's now New Years day and I still await, 50 years old and I get excited every time I see that dam brown truck.

Hurry the _ _ _ K up UPS.

I didn't get any bike goodies, but, I did buy myself a new RT....so I guess that qualifies! Has 300 miles so far, still getting used to the reduced weight of the LT.

You'll love the lower weight! I switched from an LT to a GT and that's one of the MANY things I like better. With my bad knees, it really makes a difference, and HECK YEA, a new RT definately qualifies!!!! Great going!
