Get Well Wishes to Tony Kay (deputy5211)

Everyone,

A few months ago Tony Kay(deputy5211) was riding home and an idiot in a Ford Taurus I think it was pulled out into traffic without looking, between cars and without looking, resulting in Tony impacting the side of his car.

Two interesting things about the accident. One, the car driver was an employee of a major insurance company. And the driver admitted to not looking and seeing Tony in the lane.

Tony's a great guy, and has been in a lot of pain ever since...turns out he fractured his back in the crash, and docs thought he just did soft tissue damage and ligament/tendon tears in his hands. Further investigation showed that he had some bone damage in his right hand that hadn't been identified, and he's having surgery today, with high hopes that it will relieve some of the pain he quietly suffers through daily, if only in that hand.

Those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting Tony know that he's a rare breed, a guy who gives all to everyone, consistently.

If you know him, and even if you don't, drop him a note and wish him a speedy (ok, maybe not the best choice of words) recovery.

Get well, Tony!

Pete

Hey Tony! Get well soon. I'm sure it will be hard to keep a good man down, but make sure you take the time to heal right. We're not getting any younger.

Talking heal Tony

Tony,

Heal well.

My brother in law ran over his company $1,000,000 medical limit after many surgery events including hip replacements (degenerative bone issues) and multiple hand and arm operations following bicycle crashes (hit a van almost head on at dawn riding before work for fun). He is back on the horses and rides both his R model and his bicycles. Next summer he plans to ride his bicycle across the USA. Hope you spring back as well as my brother in law!

Sorry to hear you hit such a POS. A guy as kool as you should hit a Jaguar or a Porsche, not some old Ford POS Taurus. Oh, sorry , that is what a Jaguar is.....

Ah Tony, I guess I'm not out of line by saying you really didn't need this ..... what is important is that you'll recover from this pretty soon. You've been a kind and helpful friend and it is well appreciated. In that spirit, with a sprinkling of LEO on it, may you be soon better than you ever were and the warmest holiday wishes to you and your family. And the hell with the boss!!!!

Get Well

Surgery before X-mas, reminds me when my wife wanted me to get "fixed". So I did the same week before X-mas. Merry Christmas I told her. She did promise me more, you know, bang-bang. Ya right.

Anyhow, hope you back on your feet. I guess you can not type??

Hey Tony,

I hope the surgery alleviates the majority of the pain. Maybe the Timmies will soften the blow a little bit more.

Tony, take care and maybe this will be the finale for the pain. I know you have been hurting for a while and I remember chatting with you in Snook at the RTE. We got to compare notes on a lot of things. Pain was a big motivator for the things we do in life. Heel well and fast and we'll see you on the next ride.

Those of you who know me at all know that I am not a man of few words. That said, I cannot think of a more eloquent way to express the way I feel about this thread, those who posted, and those who have not posted but thought of me, than to simply say THANK YOU for the outpouring of kindness.

Your friendship, support, and prayers are treasured. I am humbled to be in such great company as those present here in this BMWLT.com community.

I now am returning to my regularly scheduled narcotics. They don't work as well as I would like, but I'm not inclined to appreciate just how well they really are working by not taking them!

One way or the other, I will be at the New Years Day RTE. Looking forward to seeing many of you there.

Hey guy just heard about the surgery. I will not only wish you a speedy recovery but will pray that God will cause your hand to recover so fast the doctors will be amazed. Also he will cause your body to heal and you be relieved from all pain.

Been a little worried about you lately and hope this is the solution.

Tony, hope you're doing and healing well and soon feel good enough to prefer your days without the assistance of modern chemistry.

I know all to well the "lingering" after effects of sudden stops and pavement encounters, hope this is the end of your discomfort.

Looking forward to meeting you in person.
