Future of the K1200LT

As I read and learn about the K12LT, I hear rumors that it is going away or replaced in '09. Is this reasonably probable based on BMW's history? If a new one is a year away I would be inclined to wait for 2 more cylinders!

Your guess is as good as ours. Everyone seems to have their own inside information (most of it different). Last month BMW supposedly sent some guys over to have a session with LT owners to find out what they might want in a new LT. If they're only at that phase, It could be quite a few years. Some think this is just a ploy to keep up current design LT sales till a new one is realeased in late 08. So, who knows, could be next year - could be 4-5 years.

Since the current LT has the old K motor and none of the other BMW models do, it is certain to change. The most common rumour is of an inline 6. Myself, I expect an inline four based on the other K bikes. It will likely have less weight, more toys and be more expensive.
