A bad sign???

There are 3 Final Drives available on Bay of E right now.

Does this mean we're about to see another rash of FDs head south for the winter? HOPE NOT!!

Tate, I have been following them for a few weeks now, and they appear to be the same ones that get re-posted after not selling for $399 Buy Now.

Thumbs up

That's what I did. A few months ago I had the opportunity to buy one for a really low price. It came off a brand new LT that had a trike conversion. Straight from the dealer with less than 25 documented miles on it. The rear brake rotor was included with the drive. It has absolutely no visible marks/scratches on it. The rear rotor alone has a $199 replacement cost. The list price for just the final drive is $996. If I never have to use it, that will be fine with me. I keep it boxed up, along with the special cutout socket (bought from one of our fellow members) in the event one of my sons needs to ship it to me while I am on the road. Like most things I assume when or if you really need one there will be none available. Meaning you will have to pay full retail from a dealer. Plan on keeping my current LT a few more years before I upgrade to something else. Having a few key LT components on the shelf allows me to be less concerned in the event of.

May we never find the end of the road!

I hear that on a spare. It is like Murphy's Law though, you'll always need what you don't have.

Or is that more like making good mojo, have a FD boxed and never need it?

I missed a trike conversion FD myself but I got 2.5 years of warranty yet so am not close enough to get too concerned. However if I can ever get a trike FD again, I will.

I am a little leery on undocumented, and questionable heritage on some of the FD I see on e-bay, and I AM NOT slamming e-bay buying. Just the bad FD, or messed up FD, or improperly rebuilt FD, got to be going somewhere?

What with the pandemic demise of dealers across this land of ours, I was more thinking along the lines of strategic resource depositories. Here on this site alone, there are enough folks traveling all over that having some major parts readily available may well save a trip.

Special with the gathering in Gillette next summer - it may well be prudent to be prepared.

And I could not resist buying one as a spare for the SW region.
My 05 is still under warranty under next August so I don't have a need for myself... yet! But I want to be prepared.
