Riding pants

I have a 91 K75RT that puts a lot of heat on my legs. I have installed a tank bra and plugged up the gaps around the fairing, but I still get warm.

What would be a good specific choice for riding pants that will keep my legs cool?

I'll agree with Steve that First Gear Meshtech pants are a good choice,

but nothing is going to keep your legs cool on a K75RT.

I rode one for a couple of years and tried many ways to keep the heat of my legs etc.

I tried putting insulation under the tank and under the tank cover as well as behind (actually in front of) the fairing "leg covers" that in turn resulted in "pushing" the hot air back over my battery an up under the seat setting my @ss on fire.
It's the "nature" of the bike, accept it or trade "up".

Try This

Stay away from the synthetic Mesh-Tech type paints...

This man made material will just wick the heat directly to your skin...

I recommend Joe Rocket Atomic (cotton canvas) pants....they have armor, but are cool cotton....much cooler than the Mesh stuff....

Interesting question. Most of the time, the questions deal with "wicking," the dissipation of heat/perspiration. You seem to be asking about the opposite--blocking heat.

Synthetic materials such as polyester, rayon and propylene radiate heat at least 10 times as fast as cotton. Hence the "wicking" action. I would tend to agree with the warden. Synthetic materials would allow the heat to radiate through to your leg faster. They would also allow more wicking of the absorbed heat, however. Considering that your leg is exposed to plenty of air while riding, I would have to go with cotton in this case.
