Ya missed me, ha ha (very rude behavior)

Actually I was very pissed. I commute almost exclusively on the bike, lane sharing helps me stay sane. And I would say most folks cooperate by maintaining position or moving over slightly till I pass. I try to be a considerate rider, and keep my speed pretty mild.

Today I was moving along 580 near Pleasanton when suddenly it happened. I saw the open drivers window at the same time watching as a cup of some type of liquid comes flying out. I have no doubt it was meant for me.

Well they missed me. My immediate urge was to stop, cause they weren't going anywhere, and probably do something stupid. Never did see what was driving that car. But my common sense side said "f--- it, let's just go home."
So I went home.

Kinda wonder what type of exchange went on between Sh-t head and the driver to his left who he nailed with that stuff.

Not easy refraining from revenge type behavior under those circumstances. Congratulations for doing the smart thing!! I'll try to do the same when it happens to me next.

Glad you didn't stop.....kind of hard to explain why the guy had a .45 screwed into his ear over a little liquid......

Six years ago that type of action could have had at the very least some very expensive repercussions. Unfortunately they wouldn't let me keep the RTP or the paper products that went with it.

Yes and no. I miss the camaraderie, riding in a column of two's, high speed runs across town (for offical purpose of course), motor academy, vip escorts, and some of the other special assignments. I enjoyed having an RT to finish out the assignement, even though it sparked a rather expensive pastime.

I did not enjoy bureaucratic headaches.

I pulled the plug at 28.527 yrs. (their figures) I decided to move onto something different.

Were you Golden Gate div. motors?

First year out of the academy in San Francisco then the remaining time in the San Jose Office (with the exception of a year and a half in Golden Gate Division in the helicopter Unit). I agree with the good times you mentioned. I really miss riding two abreast down the freeway with a nice clean uniform on and a sharp looking bike. They are great memories that can never be duplicated.

Nice long blast from a can of pepper spray would probably be an apprpriate response.

Cigarette ends

My favourite used to be when they threw a cigarette out the window. Catching it and throwing it back in was rare but great fun.

Since his window was rolled down, a blast from a rear mounted Stebel Nautilus horn would be good to get the a-hole's ears ringing. Unfortunately there's another car on the opposite that may have their window open.

Collateral damage I suppose.

I've been splitting since Jan this year.

I must say, overall I'm very impressed with the cager's while splitting.

Sure, I get folks moving over on-to the line so I can't get past (they think), I just go around em.

I did nick a mirror very slightly while gettin' the sqeeze on friday but no biggie.

So far, no open doors, a cigarette once in a while...sorry to hear you had a problem with the bozo and the drink, good grief.

Glenn,

What Department did you work for and what years did you ride. I worked 1973 to 2003 and rode 1982-1987 and 1992-1997. We might have met in a VIP escort. We did alot of presidental motorcades. My wife and I moved up to Redding 3 years ago following the grandkids.

PS- Are you going to the CCR in West Bend Wisconson next month.

SJPD 1973-2001 motors 1996 to 2001. And as far as the escorts go, every time Gore or Clinton seemed to come to town, it rained, and we rode regardless. I believe we hosted your guys at one or two of our quarterly trainings. I usually got together with 1 or 2 of mine and 1 or 2 CHP at the coffee joint on Montague/ River Oaks till I moved to the other side of town.
No CCR this year

I'm sure I would recognize you if I saw you. The San Jose CHP office did alot with your Department during those years like Sober Grad , Avoid the 13 and MMOC get togethers.

Our son still lives in Los Gatos. Maybe the next time I head down that way I'll send you a PM and we can get together for coffee somewhere like Livermore or Pleasanton.

Anyway, good talking with you and watch out for the flying liquids.

PS- I meant the BMWMOA Rally in Wisconson

Mirrors are made to withstand force coming from the front, thus your stiff legged boot will take it right off the car without much effort .
I did find when I started riding BMW's that you have to allow for the fairing in your kick placement .
