Valky and VTX riders

May wanna check the Metzler USA web site. They got a 'buy the rear, get a front' free promotional offer going now. Very select few qualifying tire sizes.

Sadly, not for the LT, dang it.

Qualifying Rear Tires:

* ME880 180/70R16 TL 77H
* ME880 200/60R16 TL 79V
* ME880 180/55ZR18 TL (74W)
* ME880 200/50R18 TL (78W)

There is only one front tire size with this promo and you pay $25 shipping:

receive your free Metzeler Valkyrie/VTX 1800 ME880 150/80R17 TL 72H Front Tire ($25 Shipping and Handling fee will be charged to your credit card).

Not a bad looking deal on the surface. One other term is purchase must be from a Parts Unlimited dealer. I checked my wife's VTX and it takes the correct sizes; however, I use SW Mototires and IIRC the last order had Drag Specialties labels on them.

FWIW the stock tires the VTX came with are Dunlop D251 and have performed well so far. When they wear out I'll have the dealer mount up new ones if they're not too stupid with the price (been ok on other stuff so far).

Edited to add: There's also a limited number available. The page has a counter and it's at 371 remaining as of this post.

Well ok.. it pays to call and ask. The local Honda shop is a PU dealer and the price for the rear was not bad. So for just under $200 + mount/balance I'll have a set of shiny new ME880 tires for the VTX

Glad you posted that Zotter!
